Underoath, Maylene, Every Time, Advent 9/23/2007

Hahahah the last time I updated it was also about an Underoath show.

YOU MIGHT HAVE TO REFRESH YOUR BROWSER A COUPLE OF TIMES TO SEE ALL THE PICTURES. There Should be 9 of Maylene, 3 of ETID, 14 of UO.

I saw Underoath for the first time back in February with TBS. It was painful but mostly fun. This time around it was mostly painful. My bruises speak for themselves. We didn't care much about meeting any of the guys again; our main goal was to be by the stage and participate in obscene gestures with any band member who got close to us. And so we did.

Advent was pretty good. I'd only heard two of their songs prior to this. The lead singer kept hitting me with the mic cord, but he patted my head so he was forgiven. I spent most of my time starring at Tim who was at the side of the stage.

Then Maylene came on. This was also my second time seeing them. I met Dallas back in April and he's definitely the nicest guy from a band I've ever met. No one compares. They had mic problems like the last time I saw them, but at least it wasn't for the entire show. A few songs into their set I looked at the side of the stage and saw Spencer. He ended up staying for most of their set. Aaron also made an appearance.
Dry the River-
<lj-embed id="7" />
Memories of the Grove-
<lj-embed id="8" />

I only like a few of ETID's songs. They were fun though. And they were the only band who didn't allow crowd surfers, thank god. Lol, I kept having to hold my nose every time Keith got near me. Because Maylene showered us all with water (bless their souls), the moisture in the room rose profoundly. Thus, making my camera all foggy:
The New Black-
<lj-embed id="4" />

Man, Underoath had all these effects. (Might I include that Jay from The Almost was the tech guy at this show). They set up a projector where they showed some video that I really don't know how to describe but it kinda freaked me out, all these lights, random puffs of smoke that prohibited me from breathing, etc.
Anyway, I didn't like the setlist. I don't understand why they insist on playing extended versions of To Whom it May Concern, Sálmarnir, and Casting Such a Thin Shadow. I don't know about you, but I like it when bands play songs with words at a concert. Nonetheless, I don't think you'll be disappointed. They're good guys.

Writing On the Walls-
<lj-embed id="5" />

There Could be Nothing After This-
<lj-embed id="6" />

I couldn't stop laughing when he first walked on the stage shirtless and in those borderline hot pants

<-- Jay in the background with the evil eyes
